San Marcos Planning Interns Honored At State Conference

“Interns are big contributors to our department and Texas State provides an amazing group of young people anxious to make an impact,” said Shannon Mattingly, Director of Planning & Development Services.

Planning and Development Services congratulates interns Amanda Padilla and Emilio Levario, along with their classmate Craig Garrison, for winning the Legacy Project Competition at the 2017 American Planning Association Texas Chapter Conference in Frisco Nov. 1-3.

The Legacy Project is a hands-on community planning effort which focused this year on the revitalization of Downtown Frisco.

“Interns are big contributors to our department and Texas State provides an amazing group of young people anxious to make an impact,” said Shannon Mattingly, Director of Planning & Development Services.  “Amanda and Emilio are great examples of the energy and creativity students bring to a work place and we congratulate them on winning this prestigious state planning competition.”

Amanda, Emilio and Craig, all undergraduate students at Texas State University, competed against graduate and doctoral students from Southwestern Texas University, Texas A&M University and University of Texas at Arlington.
