San Marcos Council To Consider Funding COVID-19 Testing With CDBG Funds

The San Marcos City Council is seeking comments on a proposal to add a COVID-19 testing program to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 2019-2020 Action Plan using $105,530 of the newly issued $425,261 CDBG-Coronavirus Response (CDBG-CV) funds.

Comments will be accepted during a virtual public hearing at the City Council virtual meeting on Tuesday, July 7 at 6 PM. 

Since the public hearing will be conducted via virtual meeting, members of the public who would like to speak during the public hearing portion of the meeting must email citizencomment@sanmarcostx.gov prior to 12 PM. on Tuesday, July 7. A call-in number will be provided for participation.

City Council will vote on the proposed amendments at the August 4 meeting.

The revised draft 2019-2020 CDBG Action Plan will be available for public comment on the City’s website at http://www.sanmarcostx.gov/3065/CDBG-Action-Plans from July 12 through July 17.

Comments must be made in writing and should include the sender’s full name and physical address.
