Deadline For San Marcos’s Women’s Hall Of Fame Nominations Approaches
The reception will honor women who have made meaningful contributions to the San Marcos community through personal achievement and community service.
The City of San Marcos continues its call for nominations of outstanding local women to induct into the San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame at its annual ceremony in October. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, Aug. 24 at 5 p.m.
Entry forms are available at the City Clerk’s Office, 630 E. Hopkins or online at www.sanmarcostx.gov/whof.
The San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame began in 1984 to honor women for their volunteerism and leadership in the community. Since then, 138 women have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Criteria for selection will include volunteerism in multiple areas of service, meeting the needs of the community, demonstration of initiative, influencing positive change and going beyond the call of duty.
The City of San Marcos, coordinated by the City Clerk’s Office, will host the 2018 Annual Women’s Hall of Fame Reception on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. at the City Park Rec Hall.
The reception will honor women who have made meaningful contributions to the San Marcos community through personal achievement and community service.
Nominations should be submitted to the following address or emailed to Tammy Cook, Deputy City Clerk, at tkcook@sanmarcostx.gov . A special committee of former recipients will review the nominations and select the honorees.
