Eleanor Crook To Be Honored At Stars Of Texas Gala

“It is a privilege to honor Eleanor at this year’s gala,” said CTMC President/CEO Anthony Stahl. “Her continued generosity of time and resources has made this community and the world a better place in which to live.”

The 25th annual Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) Foundation’s Stars of Texas Gala, taking place on Sunday, October 7, will pay special tribute to philanthropist and pioneering advocate for global nutrition, Eleanor Crook.

Eleanor Crook was one of the original founding members of the CTMC Foundation Board of Directors in 1982.

She, along with eight other members, raised nearly $1 million to purchase the land where the hospital is located today.

“It is a privilege to honor Eleanor at this year’s gala,” said CTMC President/CEO Anthony Stahl. “Her continued generosity of time and resources has made this community and the world a better place in which to live.”

The gala will kick off at 5:00 p.m. at Embassy Suites Hotel, Spa and Conference Center in San Marcos.

In addition to gourmet dining and a unique silent auction, this year’s gala will feature world-renowned mentalist David Magee, for an evening of illusion, intrigue, magic and comedy.

Each year, the Stars of Texas Gala supports service and technology expansions that keep CTMC on the leading edge of healthcare. This year’s proceeds will benefit 3-D mammography, a revolutionary screening and diagnostic breast imaging tool to improve early detection of breast cancer.
