San Marcos Council Extends Contract For Interim Finance Director

The San Marcos City Council approved a change in service to the agreement with Strategic Government Resources relating to the Interim Finance Director Position.

The change of service increases the agreement in the amount of $40,000 and brings the total contract price to $165,000.

According to the agenda, on June 6, the council approved the increase from the original $45,000 to $125,000 to extend the contract through October 2020.

The agenda states This amendment is required to increase the contract amount in the amount of $40,000 to allow the work performed by the interim finance director position to continue through mid-February 2021, or until a regular full-time Finance Director is hired, whichever comes first.

The item was approved unanimously as part of the consent agenda Tuesday night with no discussion.

In other news, Wednesday was Assistant Director of Finance Melissa Neel’s last day with the City of San Marcos.

According to officials, Neel accepted the position of Finance Director for the City of Pflugerville.
