Goals2Cure Initiative Returns For Third Year At Texas State
SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State soccer team is thrilled to return for its third year with Goals2CureTM, a foundation established by head coach Kat Conner to promote ovarian cancer awareness and raise funds in support of women battling ovarian cancer and ovarian cancer research.
Like Coach Conner, many women courageously battle ovarian cancer every day. Too often, survivors struggle to afford the treatments and resources necessary to improve and maintain quality of life. Funding ovarian cancer research remains critical to early detection and finding a cure. Together, we can team up to help.
The coaches and players are collecting pledges for each goal the Bobcats score this season. All proceeds go directly to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC), benefitting programs that assist women battling ovarian cancer and supporting ovarian cancer research.
We ask that you pledge to contribute a set amount for each goal the team scores this season, or you may choose to make a one-time donation. Pledge levels include:
- $1.00 per goal
- $3.00 per goal
- $5.00 per goal
- $7.00 per goal
On average, the team scores 30 goals in a season, and hopefully more. Goals scored during postseason play add to our count as well!
The August 23 home match against Incarnate Word kicks off our awareness and fundraising campaign. Our home game on September 1 against Houston Baptist is designated as the 2019 Third Annual Ovarian Cancer Awareness Game.
During the last two seasons, with your help, we are extremely proud to have donated nearly $8,000 to ovarian cancer charities. So please join us again for our third campaign and make this our strongest year yet as the Texas State soccer team carries on it mission scoring Goals2CureTM and support courageous women everywhere battling ovarian cancer!
