County Judge To Represent Hays County On Edwards Aquifer Authority Committee

The Hays County Commissioners Court unanimously voted February 10 to have County Judge Bert Cobb, M.D., represent Hays County on the Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) South Central Texas Water Advisory Committee (SCTWAC). Judge Cobb recused himself.

The SCTWAC reviews actions by the EAA that affect the downstream water supply and assists in creating solutions to those concerns. The SCTWAC comprises 20 members from jurisdictions ranging from Hays County south and east to the Gulf Coast at Corpus Christi. The committee can request the EAA Board to reconsider any action that it considers prejudicial to downstream water supply concerns.

“Each representative on the SCTWAC has an impact on the development of the EAA’s demand management plan for the county he or she represents,” Judge Cobb said. “I’m looking forward to learning more about this regional process and representing the needs of Hays County.”

Committee members serve until replaced by their jurisdiction.
