Grande Communications, the Texas-based broadband communications company, recently presented scholarship awards to local high school students, Maximillian Murdoch of Lehman High School and Marcos Rivera of San Marcos High School.

Maximillian Murdoch plans to attend Rice University and Marcos Rivera plans to attend The University of Texas. Each student received at $500 scholarship from GEMS.

The Grande Employee Memorial Scholarship Fund (GEMS) was established to honor deceased employees by awarding college scholarships to selected high school seniors in markets where Grande provides services. GEMS is part of Grande’s employee philanthropy club, Grande Cares, where employees seek to enhance the communities where they provide service and where they live, work and play.
