Hardy Takes Home Sun Belt Women’s Track Athlete Of The Week Award

Next up for TXST Track and Field is the Jaguar Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama.

NEW ORLEANS – Junior Tramesha Hardy became the fourth Texas State Track & Field athlete this season to be recognized by the Sun Belt Conference this season when she was named the Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. It is the second career weekly honor for her.

Hardy had an outstanding meet on Saturday at the New Mexico Team Invitational. She broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.58.

The Houston native followed with a mark of 7.43 in the 60m finals for the third fastest time in Bobcat history. Her time of 7.50 in the 60m prelims is tied for seventh in program history as well.

Hardy ended the meet by helping the 4x400m relay team run a 3:43.97, ranking fifth on the all-time TXST list. She was joined on the team by DeAijha Hicks-Boyce, Esther Oyetunde and Sydni Willis.

All three times rank first in the Sun Belt Conference heading into this weekend’s track meets.

Next up for TXST is the Jaguar Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama. It will take place on February 4.
