Hays County Judge Calls Special Meeting For “All Things Elections”

Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra has called a special meeting for Monday at 5:00 PM to discuss “all things elections.”
The announcement was posted to Becerra’s Facebook page Tuesday evening.
Jennifer Anderson, Hays County Elections Administrator, said she had been informed by the judge of the meeting via email and that it had been requested by the League of Women Voters.
In his Facebook announcement, Becerra said the topics of discussion would be polling sites, early voting and election day voting; the public is invited to attend and have their voices heard.
“Your voice matters,” Becerra said on Facebook. “I will fight hard for equal voter access. I moved the time from the middle of the day when most people are working to 5:00 PM, in hopes we can have higher participation.”
The meeting is expected to be in a workshop format to allow comments and questions from the public.
