San Marcos To Host Community Meeting For Blanco River Flood Mitigation

City engineers will give a presentation on the Blanco Riverine Flood Mitigation Project, for which the City has received Federal disaster recovery funds.


San Marcos City Engineers will host a second public meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 12 in Room 1 of the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins, at 6 p.m. to update residents on proposed infrastructure projects under consideration for flood mitigation on the Blanco River.

Since the first meeting, held April 18, City engineers and consultants have studied the various projects under consideration for feasibility and flood mitigation benefit.

The engineers will present the findings of those studies at this meeting.

City engineers will give a presentation on the Blanco Riverine Flood Mitigation Project, for which the City has received Federal disaster recovery funds.

Following the presentation will be an opportunity for attendees to visit with consultants and staff to give comments, ask questions and express any concerns.

Maps of the Blanco River area will be available for participants to identify specific locations of interest or concern.
