UPDATED MESSAGE From Hays County Sheriff Cutler: Hays County Sheriff’s Office To Send Officers To The Texas Gulf Coast
The Port Aransas community remains without power and in lockdown during the night hours.
“The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is deploying staff to Port Aransas to assist the Port Aransas Police Department in response to Hurricane Harvey,” said Hays County Sheriff, Gary Cutler. “Many people, including officers of the Port Aransas Police Department, have suffered catastrophic losses.”
“I spoke with Chief Scott Burroughs again today,” Cutler continued. “And they have set up a link on the Port Aransas Police Department’s website to donate directly to their employees to assist with their recovery. The outpouring of assistance was incredible when Hays County experienced the Memorial Day Flood of 2015 and I wanted to pass this information onto each of you because you know how valuable this type of assistance is for the community. Please keep everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey in your thoughts.”

On Friday, September 1, 2017 Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler is deploying ten officers and a dispatcher to the Port Aransas Police Department to assist this hard hit and devastated gulf coast city.
Many of the Port Aransas Police Department officers have suffered catastrophic loss to their homes and property and have been working around the clock to keep their community safe and secure. The Hays County Officers will help relieve these officers so that they can tend to their families and allow them some much needed rest as recovery will take months.
The Port Aransas community remains without power and in lockdown during the night hours. Hays County Officers will deploy for two weeks.
Everyone at the Hays County Sheriff’s Office is praying for a rapid recovery for those who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey in the States of Texas and Louisiana.
Hays County citizens remember the outpouring of support that our county received during the Memorial Day floods of 2015. It is our turn to help those who are suffering and in need of our support.
