Kohl, Team USA Advance To PANAM Finals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Texas State junior Jordan Kohl has started every match for Team USA, leading the squad to the PANAM Deaf Volleyball Championship Finals against Brazil on Independence Day at 2 p.m. CST.
Kohl and the rest of the team is undefeated in tournament play with wins over Brazil, Canada and Argentina. The team will play Brazil in the finals after already taking down Brazil, 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-17), on Thursday.
Team USA went on to sweep Canada and Argentina to secure a spot in the semifinals in which the team beat Canada again, 3-0 (25-8, 25-7, 25-16), in a dominating performance. Brazil took down Argentina, 3-0 (25-8, 25-13, 25-11).
With a win on Monday, Kohl and Team USA will lock up a spot in the 23rd Deaflympics, which will be held July 18-30, 2017 in Samsun, Turkey. To watch the PANAM finals, click here.
This is just the first bit of competition this summer for Kohl and the rest of Team USA. They will continue play after the PANAM Qualifiers with the 2016 World Deaf Championships July 6-15, also held in Washington D.C. on the campus of Gallaudet University.
