Local Non-Profit Offers Free Summer Programs To Hays County Youths On Free Or Reduced Lunch

Registration is now open for Austin Sunshine Camps 2019 Summer Programs.

Sunshine Camps is a local non-profit which offers free fun-filled overnight summer camp programs for children of the great Austin area including Travis, Williamson, Caldwell, Hays and Bastrop counties.

The organization provides camp programs free of charge for all campers who meet the 2018-2019 free or reduced school meals income eligibility guides.

The camp is available to Central Texas-area youth and takes place in two locations: Zilker Park and Lake Travis.

According to Sunshine Camps, students build confidence, learn leadership skills and make new friends while participating in activities such as canoeing, hiking, swimming, science, nature, arts & crafts, ropes course, and team building activities. 

Austin Summer Camps is a non-profit, founded in 1928. After a 91-year history, they hope to have more kids participate than ever before.

The program has eight sessions and a kick-off weekend.

Summer kick-off weekend: June 1-June 2
Session 1: June 13 – June 17
Session 2: June 21 – June 25
Session 3: June 30 – July 3
Session 4: July 7 – July 11
Session 5: July 15 – July 19
Session 6: July 23 – July 27
Session 7: July 31 – August 4
Session 8: August 8 – August 12
