I-35 LANE CLOSURES

I–35 MAINTENANCE PROJECTS
I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | These lane closures are associated with on going maintenance activities throughout the corridor.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed across Stassney Ln. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, May 21 through Tuesday, May 22
- Eastbound Stassney Ln. right lane closed across I-35. | 9 AM until 3 PM Wednesday, May 23

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- I-35 frontage road right lane closed in both directions between Woodward St. and Oltorf St. Watch for flaggers. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between SH 71 and Woodward St. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24
- Northbound I-35 frontage road closed between Williamson Creek and the SH 71 exit. | 9 AM until 3 PM Wednesday, May 23 through Friday, May 25
- Northbound I-35 right lane closed between SH 71 and the Oltorf St. exit. The Oltorf St. exit will also be closed. | 8 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, May 23 through Thursday, May 24
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed as needed between Woodward St. and the Oltorf St. exit. Watch for flaggers. | 8 PM until 6 AM Wednesday, May 23 through Thursday, May 24
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between SH 71 and Woodward St. | 2 PM until 5 AM Thursday, May 24 through Friday, May 25

I–35 FROM STASSNEY LN. TO WILLIAM CANNON DR.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

I-35 AT 51ST STREET
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Work includes adding a southbound intersection bypass lane to allow through-traffic to bypass the traffic signal, re-configuring the entrance/exit ramps, and realigning the southbound frontage road to add a new roundabout that improves traffic flow and safety.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made within the project limits.

- Southbound I-35 right two lanes closed between US 290 and Airport Blvd. The 290 and entrance ramp and Airport Blvd. exit will also be closed. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, May 20 through Tuesday, May 22
- Southbound I-35 bypass lane closed at 51st St. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24
- Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Reinli St. and 51st St. Expect detours at 51st St. | 9 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, May 22
- Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Reinli St. and 51st St. Expect detours at 51st St. | 9 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, May 23 through Thursday, May 24
- Southbound I-35 closed between US 290 and Airport Blvd. The Airport Blvd. exit will also be closed. | 9 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, May 23 through Thursday, May 24

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Blackson Ave. and St. Johns Ave. | 9 PM until 9 AM Sunday, May 13 through Thursday, July 5
- Northbound I-35 right lane closed between US 183 North Exit (#240) and the Rundberg Lane Exit (#241). | 9 PM until midnight Sunday, May 20
- I-35 right lane closed in both directions between US 183 and US 290. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, May 20 through Thursday, May 24
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed as needed between St. Johns Ave. and Huntland Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM weekdays only through June 5th
- Westbound US 290 flyover to Southbound I-35 closed. Detour to the frontage road as an alternate route. | 11 PM until 5 AM Sunday, May 20 through Wednesday, May 23
- Eastbound SS 69 (Koenig Ln.) flyover closed to southbound I-35. | 11 PM until 5 AM Sunday, May 20 through Wednesday, May 23

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (SOUTHBOUND)
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Two ramps on the southbound I-35 frontage roads between RM 1431 and FM 3406 are being reconstructed and reversed to address traffic congestion and improve I-35 frontage road and mainlane operations.

- I-35 reduced to one lane in both directions between US 79 and RM 1431. | 9 PM until 5 AM Wednesday, May 23 through Thursday, May 24
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane between RM 1431 and US 79. | 9 PM until 5 AM Thursday, May 24 through Friday, May 25

I-35 TO FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd)
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.
