‘Cookies And Cocoa’ Bring Holiday Cheer For All To Enjoy

On Thursday, Dec. 10, the San Marcos community is invited to enjoy Cookies and Cocoa at the Courthouse, a special evening of free holiday treats and a movie on the historic Hays County Courthouse lawn.

The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department will kick off their festivities at 5:30 p.m. with a holiday vocal performance from A Capella Unlimited. The movie of the evening, Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, will start rolling shortly after, giving attendees time to get settled on the lawn; it is suggested to bring blankets to sit on.

Santa Clause is set to make a pre-movie appearance from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to greet all of San Marcos’ citizens, so be sure to get there early! Volunteers from Texas State University and the San Marcos Homeschoolers group will be serving free cookies, hot cocoa, and popcorn to all participants while supplies last. Volunteers will also be running a free, Grinch-themed photo opportunity in front of the County’s dazzling, fully decorated tree.

Parking is limited around the courthouse, so please plan ahead. Downtown parking suggestions can be found at www.sanmarcostx.gov/mainstreet.
