“Raising Cans With Raising Canes” Spreads Hunger Awareness

SAN MARCOS, Texas

Hays County Food Bank is partnering with Raising Cane’s (San Marcos location) for a fundraising event on December 7th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. 15% of profits will be donated when customers mention they are dining on behalf of the food bank. Customers are also encouraged to bring canned goods until noon on December 8th to drop in the donation bin at the restaurant. Anyone who donates will be  given a paper candy cane to decorate and post in the window.

This profit share is the last of three (October, November, and December), meant to help Raising Cane’s reach its goal of providing a holiday meal box for 16+ families in Hays County that are in need this holiday season. Many families struggle with the stress of paying for needs other than food, and the holidays can be overwhelming with the added pressure of gift giving.Customers are also encouraged to share their donation story on social media (Twitter and Facebook) using the hashtag #RaisingCansWithRaisingCanes.

If you would like to donate directly to Hays County Food Bank, please visit www.HaysFoodBank/Donate or mail check or cash to 220 Herndon St. San Marcos, TX 78666.
