The City of San Marcos and the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) are seeking input in the third round of public involvement for the San Marcos Transportation Corridors Study.

The third Virtual Open House for the study is available at SMTXStudy.com throughout the public comment period from November 2 to December 3, 2021.

The open house includes an overview of refined design concepts for improved connectivity, safety, and mobility along key transportation corridors and activity centers in San Marcos.

The corridors include Guadalupe Street (SH 123), Hopkins Street (SH 80), and a potential north/south thoroughfare east of IH 35.

The activity centers include City-owned land along Guadalupe Street, the Medical Center, and the City Government complex.

These concepts were developed using input from the community, market research, and technical data outlining current and anticipated future conditions such as travel patterns, traffic counts, and population growth.

Residents and individuals who work, study or travel to San Marcos are encouraged to view the open house materials and complete the interactive survey.

“I know San Marcos residents want a vibrant and thriving future for our city,” said Mayor Jane Hughson. “We need planning efforts that help us grow in a way that reflects the unique character, history, and beauty of our wonderful city.”

In addition to the online open house materials, mailed material can be requested by calling 512-436-3712 or emailing info@smtx.study.com. Study staff is also available to answer questions and receive comments by phone and email.
