UPDATED: San Marcos Police Department Seek Suspects In Sights & Sounds Stabbing

On December 5, the San Marcos Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at Sights & Sounds of Christmas.

UPDATED 4:55 PM: Today, Dec. 6, 2018, the San Marcos Police Department obtained a felony arrest warrant for Ismael Jose Facundo (12/20/1998), a resident of Martindale, TX, for the offense of Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon.

Facundo’s whereabouts are unknown at this time; anyone with information about the suspect should contact Detective Aubry at 512.753.2306

The San Marcos Police Department is looking for two suspects involved in a stabbing at Sights & Sounds of Christmas Wednesday night, December 5.  

Texas State University Police Department said the two suspects are Hispanic males in their 20s; one has a tattoo on his neck.

On Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at approximately 8:57 p.m., law enforcement personnel working security at Sights and Sounds, 206 N CM Allen, encountered a male subject near the basketball courts in City Park who had been stabbed in the neck while at the festival. 

Medical aid was provided to the victim, and he was transported to Seton Hays Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. 

Several witnesses were identified, and two suspects are being sought in the crime.  The offender has been identified by both the victim and numerous witnesses. 

“We believe there was an existing disagreement between these individuals that resulted in this incident occurring,” said Chief of Police Chase Stapp. “The public should feel confident to attend and bring their families to the final three nights of Sights and Sounds and enjoy a safe and festive night of fun.”

Stapp also explained that, “Safety at Sights & Sounds is a top priority and the event is secured by multiple armed law enforcement personnel and additional unarmed security personnel each night.”
