TxDOT, My I35 and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s Weekly I35 Corridor Traffic and Road Construction Update.

While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do
everything they can to minimize disruptions.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Two ramps on the southbound I-35 frontage roads between RM 1431 and FM 3406 are being reconstructed and reversed to address traffic congestion and improve I-35 frontage road and mainlane operations.

Closures are weather permitting
- Southbound I-35 exit ramp to FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) closed. Use the southbound RM 1431 exit ramp and utilize the bypass lane to reach FM 3406. |Until March 2018, weather permitting.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between RM 620 & Westinghouse Rd. | Nightly from 9 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, January 30 through Thursday, February 1.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.

Closures are weather permitting
- The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge closed to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at FM 3406. | Nightly from 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 29 through Thursday, February 1.
- Alternating westbound FM 3406 closures between Mays St & I-35. | Nightly from 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 29 through Thursday, February 1.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Slaughter Ln. | From 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 29 & Tuesday, January 30.
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane at William Cannon Dr. | Nightly from 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 29 through Thursday, February 1.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Williamson Creek. | From 8 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, January 30.
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Stassney Ln & William Cannon Dr exit ramp. | Daily from 8 AM until 4 PM Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Williamson Creek & Teri Ln. | Daily from 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2.
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Boggy Creek & William Cannon Dr. | Daily from 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2.
- Southbound I-35 ramp to westbound US 290/SH 71 closed. Use other ramp. | 9 PM Wednesday, January 31 to 5 AM Thursday, February 1.
- Southbound I-35 left lane closed between William Cannon Dr & Boggy Creek. | 8 PM Thursday, February 1 to 5 AM Friday, February 2.
- Stassney Ln closed in both directions at I-35. Detour via US 290/SH 71 or William Cannon Dr. | 8 PM Thursday, February 1 to 5 AM Friday, February 2.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- I-35 frontage road right lane closed in both directions between Woodward St & Oltorf St. Watch for flaggers. | Daily from 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2.
- Northbound I-35 left lane closed between Woodward St & Oltorf St. | From 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 29 & Tuesday, January 30.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.
