Staff Reports

HAYS COUNTY — Hays Consolidated Independent School District (Hays CISD) Superintendent Dr. Eric Wright is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Fernando Medina as the district’s new chief human resources officer. On Monday, the Hays CISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved hiring Dr. Medina. He will replace Marivel Sedillo, who was promoted in May to the district’s deputy superintendent and chief academic officer roles.

“It’s my honor to welcome Dr. Medina to our school district family,” said Superintendent Wright. “He is a highly accomplished and passionate bilingual educator with nearly three decades of experience in the classroom, as a campus leader, and as a human resources professional. Our district is lucky to have him on the team. As with most organizations, great things don’t happen without the passion and dedication of the people who serve. The heartbeat of our district – the people who make the magic happen – includes our teachers, bus drivers, child nutrition employees, custodians, campus leaders, administration, and the many other professionals who work for Hays CISD – more than 3,500 in all. Dr. Medina is here to take care of our team members so that they can focus on providing our students with the finest educational experiences in Texas.”
