Hays County reports two COVID-related deaths over the weekend

Hays County Courthouse, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports two COVID-related fatalities: a Kyle man in his 50s and a San Marcos man in his 70s. The department also reports 348 new lab-confirmed cases along with eight (8) new hospitalizations and 13 new hospital discharges. This report covers August 21-23, 2021.

There are 315 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 21,547. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 24,107. Hays County has 2,262 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 3,169 active cases. Hays County has had 1,134 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 50 people are currently hospitalized. Of those, 41 are unvaccinated.

  • M-F, Walk-in Pfizer vaccine clinics @ CommuniCare, 2810 Dacy Ln., Kyle, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m.
