City of San Marcos Offices

  • All City of San Marcos offices will be closed for May 29, Memorial Day 2017 and will re-open at their regular schedule on Tuesday.

No Refusal Weekend

  • San Marcos Police will conduct a “no refusal” enforcement program for DWI arrests May 26, 27 and 28. Officers will apply for search warrants to draw blood from anyone who refuses to submit to a breath test after being arrested for a suspected DWI offense.

Rio Vista Pool: Get Wet – Cool Off – Have Fun!

  • Rio Vista Pool will be open over the Memorial Day Weekend. Children of all ages will enjoy the ever-changing “Splash Pad,” featuring a variety of water toys, play features, and slides.

Rio Vista Pool Opening Weekend Hours:

  • Memorial Day Weekend: Unofficial Opening
  • Saturday, May 27: 12 – 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 28 & Monday, May 29: 12 – 6 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 30 – Friday, June 2: CLOSED
  • Saturday, June 3 & Sunday, June 4: 12 – 6 p.m.

  • Saturday, June 3 – Sunday, Aug. 27
  • Summer Operation Pool Schedule:
  • Mondays: CLOSED
  • Tuesdays – Fridays: 12 noon – 1 p.m. Adult Swim; 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Open Swim
  • Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays: 12 noon – 6 p.m. Open Swim
  • Daily Entry Fee: Youth $2.25; Adult $3.25
  • Season Passes: Youth $40; Adult $60; Family $150 (buy at Activity Center)

One of the most important things you need to know when visiting any of the San Marcos Parks and San Marcos River, the San Marcos City Council has recently changed most ALL park rules.

Enjoy your local parks BUT KNOW THE RULES….. jogging trails, playscape equipment, picnic tables, blacktop basketball courts, volleyball set-ups, and a vast array of unique and interesting river wildlife. The river offers canoeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, and tubing in crystal clear spring fed waters.

City of San Marcos Park Rules, Regulated Activities & Curfews

The Following Activities are Regulated and Require a Permit from the Parks and Recreation Department

  • The production of commercial films, movies, pictures or other media productions or broadcasts in City Parks.
  • The sale of any goods in City Parks.
  • Concerts, Carnivals, and Special Events
  • Temporary Structures such as jump castles and tents.

Full Park Rules

  • Alcoholic beverage consumption and display prohibited
  • No smoking or e-cigarettes/inhaled vapor devices
  • No glass containers
  • No Styrofoam containers
  • Motorized vehicles prohibited beyond parking areas
  • Animals are to remain restrained at all times
  • All wildlife and habitat protected
  • Parking in designated parking spaces only
  • Parking for park users only
  • No fire wood collection
  • Vending or sales prohibited without permit
  • Park curfew 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Propane grills only
  • No charcoal or wood grills
  • Limit 1 propane grill per city installed fixed picnic table
  • Limit 1 shelter or tarp per city installed fixed picnic table
