The Zumper Austin Metro Area Report analyzed active listings in August 2019 across 6 metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities and cities with the fastest growing rents. The Texas one bedroom median rent was $968 last month.

The Most Expensive
— Austin was the most expensive city with one bedrooms priced at $1,480.
— Cedar Park and Georgetown one bedroom rents were both priced at $1,100 last month and tied for the second priciest city.

The Least Expensive
— San Marcos ranked as the most affordable city with one bedrooms priced at $890.
— Round Rock was second with rent at $1,020.
— Pflugerville ranked as third with rent staying flat at $1,060.

The Fastest Growing (Y/Y%)
— Pflugerville had the fastest growing rent, up 3.9% since this time last year.
— Georgetown saw rent climb 2.8%, making it the second fastest growing.
— Round Rock was third with rent growing 2.0%

The Fastest Growing (M/M%)
— Cedar Park had the largest monthly rental growth rate, up 1.9%.
— Round Rock rent jumped 1.0% last month, making it the second fastest growing.
— Austinranked as third with rent up 0.8%.
