TCFV Launches Purple Post Card Campaign To Fight Family Violence

Staff Reports

The Texas Council on Family Violence announced the launch of their Purple Post Card Campaign last week. The campaign’s goal is to make funding for domestic violence services a top priority for the Texas Government.

The council aims to have 30,000 signed cards printed and hand-delivered to Texas Legislators and senators in the halls of the Texas Capitol during the 86th Texas Legislative Session by the end of March.

According to TCFV, in 2017, 71,000 domestic violence victims in Texas got to sleep in safe shelter beds after fleeing danger. But even still 41 percent of all emergency requests had to be waitlisted.

TCFV is asking Texans to join the cause and help address the growing needs of survivors of family violence.
