UPDATE: Kyle Rescinds Boil Water Notice

Kyle, TX – The boil water notice implemented Friday morning has now been rescinded, as the City of Kyle’s water department received back lab results of the water test.

“All water samples passed,” according to Warren Christian of the Public Works Department. “The tests were negative for any bacteria.”

Public Works Director Harper Wilder said a construction crew working on Bunton Creek Road Friday morning hit a major water main and ruptured it, causing a leak.

“This was one of the largest water mains in Kyle.  I was proud of the quick response by City crews. Their ability to isolate the area in such a timely manner ensured that a larger portion of the city was not affected,” he said  “Our staff worked diligently on the leak throughout the day and repairs were completed by the afternoon.”

The city’s Treatment Operations Division Manager, Jason Biemer, issued a boil water notice Friday morning out of an abundance of caution. Lab results can take more than 24 hours to be returned.

Based on those results, that boil water notice is now over.
