San Marcos City Council To Hold Two Special Meetings This Week
Council will consider one other item and hold a public hearing Wednesday night; the public hearing is the second of two on the annexation of 934 acres out of the William Pettus Survey.

The San Marcos City Council will hold two special meetings this week.
On Wednesday, December 19, San Marcos will hold a special meeting to canvass the 2018 runoff election for Place 4 and Place 5. Following the canvas, the council will swear in its two new city council members, Mark Rockeymoore and Jocabed “Joca” Marquez.
Marquez won her race against Rick Henderson with 1,472 votes. And Mark Rockeymoore won his race against Shane Scott with 1,467 votes. The full breakdown of the votes each candidate received can be found here.
Council will consider one other item and hold a public hearing Wednesday night; the public hearing is the second of two on the annexation of 934 acres out of the William Pettus Survey. The property includes six tracts of land between San Marcos and Martindale.
On January 15, 2019, city council will vote on the annexation and the potential rezoning of the property to Heavy Industrial.
The San Marcos City Council will hold a second special meeting on Thursday, December 20, to consider the approval of Resolution 2018-239R approving a contract with Jerry D. Fields and Linda G. Fields for the city of San Marcos to purchase approximately 4.21 acres of land comprised of six lots at 1401 through 1419 Old Ranch Road 12.
The lots are located adjacent to the San Marcos Cemetery and will potentially cost the city $2,250,000 plus closing costs according to the agenda.
There will be no regular meeting held on Tuesday, December 18.
