The Final Draft Code SMTX Coming To P&Z And City Council For Public Hearings

Code SMTX will apply the policies from the Vision San Marcos Comprehensive Plan about where and how we grow to the City’s Land Development Code.

Code SMTX will apply the policies from the Vision San Marcos Comprehensive Plan about where and how we grow to the City’s Land Development Code.

Code SMTX began in July of 2014 and has included a tremendous amount of work from residents, community members, and stakeholder groups.

Throughout the Code SMTX planning process, a number of public events have also been held including the week long Code SMTX Code Rodeo, Environmental Workshops, Neighborhood Workshops, Zoning for Character Workshops, and most recently, Planning and Zoning and City Council Workshops.

This work has come to fruition with the completion of the Final Draft of Code SMTX released on October 13, 2017.

This Final Draft is scheduled for the first public hearing and consideration on November 14 at the regularly scheduled Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.

What’s Next for Code SMTX

In the months ahead, the community will have the opportunity to continue to review and respond to the final draft during upcoming public hearings or by sending written comments or questions to PlanningInfo@sanmarcostx.gov.  Following is the current schedule for upcoming meetings.

  • November 14, 6:00 p.m. – P&Z Public Hearing and Action @ City Hall

 

  • December 19, 7:00 p.m. – Council Public Hearing and Discussion @ City Hall

 

  • January 2, 7:00 p.m. – Council Public Hearing and Action  @ City Hall

 

  • January 16, 5:30 p.m. – Council 2nd Reading and Final Action @ City Hall
