San Marcos Education Foundation Awards $30,000 In Innovative Teaching Grants
 
On the morning of June 4, 2015, a large entourage of San Marcos Education Foundation (SMEF) board members traveled to seven San Marcos CISD campuses to award nine innovative teaching grants to district educators. The following campuses received grants totaling right at $30,000:
  • Hernandez Elementary: Kim Morgan-Benson for “App-Smash-Tastic”
  • Miller Middle School:   Kendra Harris for “Expanding Education”
  • San Marcos High School: Stephanie Kinslow for “Optimizing Student Success in Statistics”
  • Bowie Elementary: (1) Pam Thomas for “Tomas Rivera 20th Anniversary” and (2) Priscilla Delgado for “San Marcos CISD Battle of the Books”
  • De Zavala Elementary: Celina McGee for “Mini-Inquirers”
  • Goodnight Middle School: Steve Dow/Arlene Hooper for “A Growing Community—A Healthy School Garden”
  • Travis Elementary: (1) Niki Konecki /Sara Torres for “Full Steam Ahead—Learning Through Play” and (2) Niki Konecki /Joanna Breazeale for “Excited About Xylophones!”
