TxDOT is conducting a Disparity Study of its Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) programs to ensure that all businesses have equal access to contracting opportunities and that the current programs remain legally defensible and administratively successful.

This public meeting is planned for Thursday, April 12 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the TxDOT Austin Riverside Campus located at 200 E Riverside, Room 1A.2, Austin, TX 78704 (Map).

The study will provide information to help TxDOT set DBE and HUB goals; monitor implementation of the programs; and assist firms to do business with the Department. In addition to determining the use of DBEs and HUBs on TxDOT prime and subcontracts, providing the availability of such firms, and examining evidence of barriers in Texas’ road building industry; the study will include qualitative experiences and recommendations of stakeholder groups and business owners. As such, your participation is critical to informing the study results and recommendations.

The meeting will introduce the study team; provide a presentation on legal and regulatory standards for the DBE program and study; review information regarding the study process; and outline how stakeholders and business owners can participate.

We welcome the participation of all business owners; those who are currently doing business with TXDOT, as well as those interested in contracting opportunities.
