San Marcos To Begin Field Work For My Historic SMTX Survey

San Marcos is conducting a survey to identify and document historic-age resources (50 years of age and older) and develop recommendations to help officials make decisions about historic resources for future planning and development initiatives.

On November 9, the City of San Marcos announced officials would begin taking inventory of historic-age properties in neighborhoods throughout San Marcos.

The inventory is part of the My Historic SMTX Survey. Historians will be visiting neighborhoods within Phase 1 of the historic resources survey boundary Nov. 12-16, Nov. 19, and Nov. 26-30.

San Marcos is conducting the survey to identify and document historic-age resources (50 years of age and older) and develop recommendations to help officials make decisions about historic resources for future planning and development initiatives.

Phase 2 of the survey is scheduled to begin in February 2019.

Residents may share information on potential historic resources and view a map showing the phases by visiting www.sanmarcostx.gov/myhistoricsmtx.
