Texas State Misses Out On Bowl Game For Second Consecutive Year

For the second consecutive year, the Texas State football team did not receive an invitation to a bowl game despite being bowl eligible. 

The Bobcats improved from 6-6 to 7-5 this season, with conference wins over Idaho, New Mexico State and Louisiana-Monroe, Arkansas State and Georgia State. Texas State outscored opponents by 6.2 points per game this season.
Louisiana-Lafayette, Arkansas State and South Alabama accepted invitations to the three Sun Belt Conference bowl tie-in games. 
Texas State was in the running for the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, the Cactus Bowl in Tempe, Arizona, the Heart of Dallas Bowl and the New Mexico Bowl for an at-large bowl bid. 
Temple and Oklahoma State secured bowl eligibility Saturday, eliminating two potential at-large bids for the Bobcats. There were 81 bowl eligible teams vying for 76 spots in a bowl game. 
Texas State will open the 2015 football season against the Florida State Seminoles.
