BACKGROUND: For 22 years, Mooov-In has helped students get settled into UT Austin’s 14 on-campus residence halls. The goal of the event is to create a smooth transition to college for students, preparing them to start learning and get on the path to graduate in four years. This year, 72 percent of the residents living on campus will be freshmen. For more information on Mooov-In, visit Housing and Food Service.

Mooov-In officially kicks off Longhorn Welcome, a series of free events for incoming first-year and transfer students to the university. Because entering a university alongside more than 51,000 classmates can be overwhelming, Longhorn Welcome events offer students the opportunity to begin their experience here with a supportive community.

The festivities continue through Sept. 5 with 10 signature events including “Gone to Texas,” “Horns Up Night” and “Party on the Plaza.” Dozens of other Longhorn Welcome events are also taking place to celebrate UT Austin’s core values and traditions.
