While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do
everything they can to minimize disruptions.
I-35 CORRIDOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
SUNDAY 8/12 – SATURDAY 8/18
I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between the William Cannon exit and Nelms Dr. | 10 PM until 5 AM Sunday, August 12 through Thursday, August 16
- Southbound I-35 left lane closed between Little Texas Ln. and the William Cannon Dr. entrance ramp. | 11 PM until 6 AM Sunday, August 12 through Thursday, August 16
- Northbound I-35 U-Turn bridge closed at Stassney Ln. | 9 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, August 14 through Thursday, August 16
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between William Cannon Dr. and Nelms Dr. | Through August 24

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Oltorf St. and Woodward St. Watch for flaggers. | 8 AM until 5 PM Monday, August 13 through Friday, August 17
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between SH 71 and Woodward St. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, August 13 through Friday, August 17 and from 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, August 13 through Thursday, August 16
- Southbound I-35 right lane closed under Riverside Dr. | 9 PM until 5 AM Monday, August 13 through Tuesday, August 14
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between the Woodland Ave. exit and Woodland Ave. | 9 AM until 3 PM weekdays through August 31st

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- I-35 left lane closed in both directions between US 183 and US 290 E. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, August 12 through Thursday, August 16
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between US 183 and Rundberg Ln. Exit #241 will also be closed. | 9 PM until 5 AM Sunday, August 12 through Thursday, August 16
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Dr. and US 290 E. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, August 13 through Friday, August 17
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed after Rutherford Ln. | 9 AM until 3 PM weekdays through August 24

I-35 AT FM 3406
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.

I–35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH
PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.
