College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources, has published its 2016 ranking for the Most Affordable Online Master’s in Social Work.

Prospective students interested in deepening their knowledge and skills in social work at the master’s level are often already working. This makes full-time, on-campus education difficult, which is why online Master’s in Social Work (MSW) programs are growing in popularity.

In response to this trend, College Choice has just released its list of the Top 10 Most Affordable Online MSW programs to help future students assess which school might be a good fit.

“Pursuing a Master’s in Social Work will give you a professional edge and enable you to move into deeper specializations in the field, like children and families, trauma and violence counseling, mental health and addiction counseling, or care for the aging. But fitting that education—as beneficial as it is—into your schedule and into your budget can be tricky, which is why choosing an affordable online program ought to be on your radar,” Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking.

The College Choice rankings were made using data from extensive studies published from the Higher Education Research Institute at UCLA where students rated their college experiences in a variety of areas including tuition expenses, financial aid coverage, academic reputation, and after-college job placement.

In addition, College Choice compared that data to other public sources like U.S. News & World Report, the National Center for Education Statistics, and PayScale.com.
