Wilshire Homes Closes On First Lot In La Cima Development

La Cima San Marcos closed on their first home site with Wilshire Homes on March 29.

“We have several additional lots closing in the pipeline for all three of our current builders throughout April,” said Eric Willis, Project Developer for La Cima.

Originally approved in February of 2013 as Lazy Oaks Ranch, the development was renamed and rebranded to become what we now know as La Cima San Marcos.

La Cima San Marcos has brought in three new home builders to the region, including Scott Felder, Highland and Wilshire Homes, and they are currently negotiating with others.

The first phase of the homes to be built will start in the mid $200,000 range and can go up to $500,000 depending on the lot, options and builder chosen. The first round of model homes is planned to be completed and on the ground in June, according to Willis.

La Cima is one of three master-planned communities currently being built in San Marcos; the other two are Trace and Kissing Tree, formally known as Paso Robles.

“Our community (La Cima), along with Kissing Tree and Trace, it’s really going to transform San Marcos. You’ve got three master-planned developments attacking different price points in San Marcos, and it’s going to be a really good thing for the entire I-35 Corridor Region.” Willis said.

“The La Cima neighborhood amenities include a junior Olympic-level swimming pool, walking trails, a fitness center, and more than 800 acres of parks and open space,” Willis said. “La Cima will be a one of a kind development located in the I-35 Innovation Corridor.”

La Cima is offering a large amount of green space, improved regional mobility, increased commercial opportunities and additional, high-quality single-family residential development that will help to “bolster the middle class.”

La Cima San Marcos, a 2,000-acre development, is located at the intersection of Wonder World Drive and Old Ranch Road 12; it sits next to the San Marcos Academy.

The 1,028.82 acres set aside for homes, 200 acres for commercial development, parkland/open space/greenspace acreage of 800.20 (with 700.20 of that being the Hays County Preserve) and 2,400 home sites equals a total average housing unit density of 1.18 per acres.
