Wine and Wassail Walk Tickets go on Sale Oct. 1

Planning is now underway for the second annual downtown Wine and Wassail Walk, hosted by the San Marcos Main Street Program and United Way of Hays County, on Friday, Nov. 14, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 and go on sale Wednesday, Oct. 1. The event is for participants ages 21 and up. The event is limited to 350 tickets, so pre-sale purchases are encouraged.
The evening will feature wine-tasting and wassail sampling, along with paired hors d’oeuvres at more than a dozen downtown businesses. Businesses will be mixing up homemade wassail, a German spiced cider, for bragging rights and a best wassail prize.
Participants are also invited to kick off the holiday season with exclusive shopping specials at retailers. All shoppers who spend more than $20 with any downtown business at the event will receive a free gift and can enter to win a wine-tasting package at Dry Comal Creek Vineyards when they show their receipt at check-in at the Hays County Courthouse. Guests may also take the horse-drawn carriage around the Courthouse Square for a guided historic tour.
Event proceeds will benefit United Way of Hays County and downtown improvements by the Main Street Program.
“This event is meant to get our community in the spirit of shopping small and supporting local businesses,” said Samantha Armbruster, Main Street Program Manager. “This is also a great opportunity to give back this holiday season by supporting initiatives by our partner agency United Way of Hays County.”
Tickets may be purchased online at www.smtxwinewalk.com or by contacting the Main Street Program office at 512.393.8430.
