Director Bob Phillips, who worked at the park for a decade starting in 1962, will accompany the screenings of “Aquarena Springs and Ralph the Swimming Pig.”

His film highlights its numerous attractions, including “the world’s only submarine theater” — a marvel of engineering that submerged audiences beneath water to witness a performance of mermaids, a smoking clown and a “swine-diving” pig named Ralph.

“Aquarena Springs and Ralph the Swimming Pig” will be shown for free on Sunday, September 11 at 1 PM at the Price Center (222 W. San Antonio St.); space is limited and doors open at 12:30 PM.

The San Marcos Cinema Club, who is sponsoring the screenings, will show the film again on Monday, September 12, at 7 PM at Wake the Dead Coffeehouse (1432 Old Ranch Rd 12) as part of their every-second-Monday-of-the-month residency at the cafe.

Brenda Russell, daughter of the original aquamaid Margaret Russell, will attend the free screening of “Aquarena Springs and Ralph the Swimming Pig” on Sunday at the Price Center.
