San Marcos Announces Last Two ‘Movies In Your Park’ For The Summer

The City of San Marcos and Recreation Department, in partnership with Grande Communications and Cricket Wireless, will show “Coco” at the upcoming Movies in Your Park event on Tuesday, July 31.

The event will be held at San Marcos Plaza Park., 201 N. C M Allen Parkway.

C M Allen Parkway will close between Hopkins Street and University Drive beginning Monday, July 30, 2018 for reconstruction of the roadway. 

Alternative parking will be available during non-business hours at the City of San Marcos Parks Department parking lot.

Other parking areas include the City Rec Center parking lot across the river, and the Veramendi Plaza Park parking area. The City of San Marcos Parks Department parking lot includes a handicap accessible parking space with access to the San Marcos Plaza Park area.

Pre-movie activities hosted by Angel Drops, Texas Health & Racquet Club, and other community organizations will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by the movie at 8:45 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on. Concessions will be available for purchase from the Association of Recreation Enthusiasts, and Kona Ice will be on site selling snow cones.  Glass, Styrofoam, alcohol, and smoking are not permitted. The final movie of this summer’s series will feature “Space Jam” on Tuesday, Aug 7.
