183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of August 23

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/27/21 — PAVING
Monday (8/23) at 8 a.m. until Friday (9/27) at 6 p.m., south to north U-turn at MLK Blvd. and US 183 left general-purpose lane will be closed at MLK Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/27/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (9/23-8/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Patton Ave. to Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/27/21 — SOUND WALL CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Friday (9/23-8/27) 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right general-purpose lane will be closed from US 290 to Manor Springdale Rd.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/27/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (9/23-8/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Interchange Blvd. to Techni Center Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/27/21 — PAVING
Monday-Friday (9/23-8/27) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right main lane will be closed from E. Riverside Dr. to Interchange Blvd.

RAMP CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/24/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Monday-Tuesday (8/23-8/24) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., north to south U-turn at MLK Blvd. will be closed.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/26/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Tuesday (8/23-8/24) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound main lane will be reduced to one lane from Interchange Blvd. to Montopolis Dr. and general-purpose on-ramp will be closed at Montopolis Dr.

RAMP CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/25/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (8/23-8/24) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound main lane will be closed at SH 71. East SH 71 to north US 183 cloverleaf will be closed. US 183 north to west SH 71 cloverleaf will be closed. Detour Spirit of Texas Dr. U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/25/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (8/23-8/24) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 to Northbound US 183 direct connector will be closed, detour E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to US 183 southbound cloverleaf.

Monday-Friday (8/23-8/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 in both directions one general-purpose lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/28/21 — PAVING
Monday-Friday (8/23-8/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 in both directions the main lane will be reduced to one lane from E. Riverside Dr. to Interchange Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/28/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Friday (8/23-8/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Mobile Ops: US 183 main lane in both directions one lane will be closed from US 290 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/23/21 to 8/28/21 — PAVING
Monday-Friday (8/23-8/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., the southbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards the airport will be reduced to one lane.

RAMP CLOSURE — 8/24/21 to 8/28/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Thursday (8/24-8/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 to southbound US 183 direct connector will be closed, detour E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to US 183 southbound.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/24/21 to 8/28/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Tuesday-Thursday (8/24-8/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound Airport Blvd/7th/Cesar Chavez will be reduced to one lane at US 183.

LANE CLOSURE — 8/24/21 to 8/28/21 — HIGHWAY LIGHTING
Tuesday-Thursday (8/24-8/27) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound ramp to Montopolis will be reduced to one lane from Interchange Blvd. to Montopolis.
