CTMC To Offer 100 Free Mammograms To Community Women
“We know that early detection is key when it comes to positive outcomes for breast cancer patients, so we want to do our part to ensure that the women in our area get screened regardless of their ability to pay,” said CTMC President and CEO Anthony Stahl.
San Marcos, TX – October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is partnering with Community Action of Central Texas to offer 100 free mammograms to women who do not have the resources to pay for one.
According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer in American women, second only to skin cancer.
“We know that early detection is key when it comes to positive outcomes for breast cancer patients, so we want to do our part to ensure that the women in our area get screened regardless of their ability to pay,” said CTMC President and CEO Anthony Stahl.

In addition to the free mammograms, CTMC will raise awareness and funds for breast cancer through the following events taking place throughout the October. All money raised will benefit the CTMC Foundation’s Emergency Cancer Fund that assists those who are undergoing cancer treatment.
September 29-October 31: Tanger Pink Card Savings
Tanger Outlet Centers will sell reusable Pink Cards for $10. They are good for 25% off one item per store at participating stores per day with unlimited use during the timeframe. October 11: San Marcos Academy Pink Out Volleyball
JV plays at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity plays at 6:30 p.m. at the Jamail Special Event Center. Proceeds of t-shirts, baked goods and other items benefit the CTMC Foundation.
October 13: San Marcos Academy Pink Out Football
7:30 p.m. at Ingram Stadium in the McCoy Remme Athletic Complex. Proceeds of t-shirts, baked goods and other items benefit the CTMC Foundation.
October 18: Pink Worship Service
Join us at the CTMC Chapel for a celebratory and remembrance service from 10:00-10:30 a.m. that is open to the community.
October 21: Pink Heals Hays County 5K

October 27: Breast Cancer Support Group
