TxDOT, My I35 and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s Weekly Corridor Traffic and Road Construction Update for the IH-35 Corridor
TxDOT knows you’ve got to get where you need to go.
While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do everything they can to minimize disruptions.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | I-35 Mainlanes and FM 3406 Bridge to Close for Bridge Demolition; Long-term Detour for FM 3406 Bridge.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd.) bridge will be closed for widening and reconstruction for approximately 10 months.

Closures are weather permitting.
- The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge closed to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn bridge. | Until Summer 2018, weather permitting
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane under FM 3406 | Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, November 12 through Thursday, November 16
- Westbound FM 3406 reduced to one lane between Mays St & I-35 | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, November 12 through Tuesday, November 14

PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

- Northbound I-35 right lane closed between RM 620 & Westinghouse Rd. Ramps will close as needed. | Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, November 12 through Thursday, November 16
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Gattis School Rd & Mays Crossing. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Tuesday, November 14
- The south to northbound U-turn at I-35 & McNeil Rd closed. | Daily from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Wednesday, November 15

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at St. Edwards Dr. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, November 13 through Friday, November 17
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at Oltorf St. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, November 12 through Thursday, November 16
- Various closures in both directions approaching Oltorf & across I-35. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, November 12 through Thursday, November 16
- Oltorf bridge at I-35 closed. Use Woodward St or Woodland Ave. | 8 p.m. Thursday, November 16 to 5 a.m. Friday, November 17

PROJECT OVERVIEW| The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Northbound I-35 flyover to westbound US 290/SH 71 closed. Detour to frontage road as alternate route. | From 7 a.m. until noon Sunday, November 12
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Teri Ln and SH 71. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, November 12 through Thursday, November 16
- Southbound I-35 entrance ramp from US 290/SH 71 will close. The southbound right lane will also close at the ramp. | From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, November 12
- Various closures northbound I-35 frontage at William Cannon Dr. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, November 13 through Friday, November 17
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Stassney Ln & William Cannon Dr exit. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, November 13 through Friday, November 17
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between US 290/ SH 71 & Stassney Ln. | 8 p.m. Monday, November 13 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 14
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Shelby Ln & Williamson Creek. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, November 14 through Thursday, November 16
