2015 Governor’s Small Business Awards

Businesses from all industries with less than 100 employees in the Greater San Marcos Region are encouraged to apply.
The 21st Century economy in the U.S. is focused on encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit. As a commitment to encouraging small business development in Central Texas, the Greater San Marcos Partnership in collaboration with the Office of the Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Workforce Commission and Texas Workforce Solutions will recognize outstanding small businesses in the cities of San Marcos, Dripping Springs, Kyle, Luling, Lockhart and Wimberley on August 26 at the Second Annual Governor’s Small Business Forum to be held in San Marcos, TX.
 
This year, winners will be selected by the community via an open nomination form. The deadline to nominate businesses is July 24, 2015 at 11:59 pm CST. Click here to submit a nomination.
 
Nominees must meet the following criteria for consideration:
  • Be located in the city of San Marcos, Dripping Springs, Kyle, Lockhart, Luling, Wimberley, or Hays or Caldwell Counties?
  • Have less than 100 employees or have grown from 100 employees in the last year?
  • Shown growth in the last year in both or either employment or investment? and
  • Made significant contributions to the community in the last year.

“This recognition provides an opportunity for exposure, and with the support of the Governor’s Office, Texas Workforce Commission and Texas Workforce Solutions, allows them to showcase their success, which will help our small businesses to grow and thrive.”
 
The Governor’s Small Business Forum is an all­ day conference to help entrepreneurs and  small  business owners  learn  how  to establish  and  grow  their business in today’s fast paced economy. Details for the August 26th event will be announced soon.
