San Marcos Planning & Zoning Meeting Agenda – Tuesday, January 24

The Savoy recently applied for Texas Housing Tax Credits (HTC) with the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) under the name of the Savoy at San Marcos Development proposed to be located at 1601 McCarty Rd., San Marcos, TX.

 

The Savoy at San Marcos has not only requested a zoning change and annexation into the incorporated limits of the City of San Marcos, additionally they recently applied for Texas Housing Tax Credits.

According to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs under the name of the Savoy at San Marcos Development proposed to be located at 1601 McCarty Rd., San Marcos, TX., they received an application for the Texas Housing Credits.

The property is currently not zoned as it is located outside of the City Limits, but the Savoy has also requested the property to be annexed in to the City of San Marcos.

The annexation portion will be the responsibility of the city council.

The city Staff has recommended the approval of the zoning change request, and Tuesday’s Planning & Zoning meeting will only be taking up the zoning change.

Item ZC-17-01: Hold a public hearing and consider a request by Bill Fisher, on behalf of Jaster Edmund Hays County Partnership, for a zoning change to “MF-18” Multifamily for 17.27 acres, more or less, of land which is currently outside the City Limits, being a portion of the Cyrus Wickson survey, generally located on East McCarty Road. The TDHCA Housing Tax Credit (HTC) Program is one of the primary means of directing private capital toward the development and preservation of affordable rental housing for low-income households.

Tax credits are awarded to eligible participants to offset a portion of their federal tax liability in exchange for the production or preservation of affordable rental housing.
