Kyle City Council To Hold Public Hearing On Tax Rate, Budget And Consider Emergency/Incident Action Plan

On Tuesday, the Kyle City Council is slated to discuss the creation of an Emergency/Incident Action Plan and hold a public hearing and discuss the proposed budget, tax rate and options for expanding the police department.

The creation of an Emergency/Incident Action Plan for the City of Kyle was requested by Council Member Alex Villalobos.

According to the agenda, the proposed creation of the plan is part of the County’s Emergency Management Plan.

Council Members may consider action following discussion. No further information on this topic was provided in the agenda packet.

Villalobos is also the full-time Chief of Staff and security detail (recently sworn-in as a Constable, PCT. 3) to the Hays County Judge, Ruben Becerra, who has also recommended a 54.7 percent raise for Villalobos in the county’s 2020 budget. Becerra is said to be  considering the council member as a Hays County Emergency Services Coordinator.

Council members will also hold a public hearing to receive input from the community on the City of Kyle Proposed Budget, tax rate and options for expanding the police department.

Council will convene in the Kyle City Council Chambers at City Hall at 6:00 PM.
