San Marcos’ Week Ahead: Road Construction And Traffic Report

Projects affecting San Marcos traffic Sept. 18 – 24, 2016

CHEATHAM ST/C M ALLEN ST: The Mermaid Society will have a parade on Saturday, September 17 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. The parade starting point is on Cheatham Street at CM Allen and will travel to LBJ to San Antonio Street. Streets will be closed intermittently by Police Officers for the safe passage of parade participants. July Moreno, 512.825.2819   Sept. 17 @ 8 a.m.  Sept. 17 @ 1 p.m.
 POST RD/BERT BROWN ST.: The Rotary Club will have their Triathlon on Saturday, September 17 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The starting point will be at Travis Elementary on Post Road and continue through Lime Kiln Road with intermittent road closures to allow runners and bikers to safely run the course. Traffic control will be present with Police Officers in marked patrol cars.  Sept. 17 @ 8 a.m.  Sept. 17 @ 11 a.m.
817 CHESTNUT ST: One lane will be closed for new construction to site through September 10. Street will continue to be passable to all traffic. J4 Development, 469.236.0922 Present Sept 10
 MLK/DUNBAR BUILDING: The SMTX Pride Parade will take place on September 10 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. with intermittent street closures in the downtown area. The parade will begin on MLK at the Dunbar Building and travel along MLK to N. LBJ, up N.LBJ to E. Hutchison St. and east on Hutchison St. ending at the San Marcos Plaza Park.  N LBJ AT HOLLAND ST: The intersection of N. LBJ and Holland will be closed daily until September 16th. City contractor will be replacing the utility lines in the intersection. Through traffic will be routed on Chestnut and Younger Street during construction. The detour will be removed at the end of each working day. N LBJ: From Holland St. to Camaro Way will be closed to through traffic until the Spring of 2017. City contractor will be replacing utility lines in the area. WOODS ST: A segment of Woods St between Comanche and North Street will be closed during construction of the new Texas State University Engineering & Science Building beginning Monday, August 15 until August 2018. Project Manager Scott Rouse, 512.245.2202 Aug 15, 2016 August 2018
EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET: Half a block closed from the alley to N. LBJ every Saturday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. for the Farmers Market on the Square. Main Street Program, 512.393.8430. Year Round
