Closures, Detours, Traffic Alerts
for Week of May 5 – May 11
I-35 AT POSEY ROAD
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will construct a new overpass on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction at Posey Road, perform ramp reversals and convert two-way frontage roads to one-way.
Currently, the I-35 mainlanes go under Posey Road. The new configuration will have the I-35 mainlanes going over Posey Road.

Closures are weather permitting
- Northbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly between Posey Road and Centerpoint Road. Exit #200 will also be closed. | Sunday, May 5 through Friday, May 10 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly between Gregsons Bend and Posey Road. Exit #199 will also be closed. | Sunday, May 5 through Friday, May 10 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Expect north and southbound I-35 frontage road closures nightly between Posey Road and York Creek Road. Exit #199 will also be closed. | Tuesday, May 7 through Friday, May 10 from 9 PM until 5 AM

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road right-turn lane closed daily at William Cannon Drive. | Monday, May 6 through Friday, May 10 from 9 AM until 3 PM
- Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between William Cannon Drive and Foremost Drive. | Through May 2019

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads.
Additionally, construction of new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between La Posada Drive and St. Johns Avenue. | Sunday, May 5 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between US 183 and Rundberg Lane. | Sunday, May 5 through Thursday, May 9 from 11 PM until 5 AM
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between US 183 and US 290 East. | Sunday, May 5 through Thursday, May 9 from 11 PM until 5 AM
- Northbound I-35 left lane closed nightly between US 290 East to US 183. | Sunday, May 5 through Thursday, May 9 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- Hermitage Drive closed nightly at I-35. | Sunday, May 5 through Saturday, May 11 from 9 PM until 5 PM
- Southbound I-35 frontage road closed nightly from Wonsley Drive to US 183. | Sunday, May 5 from 11 PM to 5 AM
- Southbound I-35 right lane closed nightly from Barwood Park to US 183. | Sunday, May 5 through Friday, May 10 from 9 PM until 5 AM

I-35 AT FM 3406
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge.

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH
PROJECT ACTIVITY | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hesters Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the County Road 305 bridge and realign County Road 304 East to connect to the newly constructed bridge. Pedestrian enhancements will also be made within the project limits.
