183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of November 22

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

SHORT TERM

LANE CLOSURE — 11/18/21 to 11/22/21 — PAVING
Thursday (11/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (11/19) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (11/20) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., Sunday (11/21) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 general-purpose will be reduced to one lane in both directions between E. Riverside Dr. and Interchange Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 11/18/21 to 11/22/21 — PAVING
Thursday (11/18) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (11/19) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (11/20) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., Sunday (11/21) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., 183 Toll/US 183 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between E. Riverside Dr. and Interchange Blvd.

SHOULDER — 11/22/21 to 11/24/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Tuesday (11/22-11/23) 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday (11/24) 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., Mobile Ops: both shoulders on northbound 183 Toll/US 183 between US 290 and SH 71 will be closed.

SHOULDER CLOSURE — 11/22/21 to 11/24/21 — SIGN INSTALLATION
Monday-Tuesday (11/22-11/23) 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday (11/24) 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., Mobile Ops: shoulders on US 183 mainlanes/183 Toll between US 290 and SH 71 in both directions will be closed.

Monday-Tuesday (11/22-11/23) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., 183 Toll/US 183 will be reduced to one lane in both directions between E. Riverside Dr. and Interchange Blvd.

Monday-Tuesday (11/22-11/23) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 183 Toll/US 183 left lane will be closed in both directions between MLK Blvd. and Thurgood Ave.

Monday-Tuesday (11/22-11/23) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 general-purpose on-ramp will be closed at Montopolis Dr.

LANE CLOSURE — 11/22/21 to 11/24/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (11/22-11/23) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 general-purpose will be reduced to one lane in both directions between E. Riverside Dr. and Interchange Blvd.

RAMP CLOSURE — 11/22/21 to 11/24/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (11/22-11/23) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound 183 Toll exit to Techni Center will be closed, traffic to detour via US183 off-ramp at Thompson to US 183 northbound general-purpose.

LONG TERM

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/17/21 to 12/5/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
CONTINUOUS CLOSURE: Wednesday, 9/1 at 6 p.m. to Sunday, 12/5 at 6 p.m., Eastbound 7th St. will be closed at US 183. Detour to Airport Blvd. southbound entry ramp via Levander Loop.
