Bruce And Gloria Ingram Donate $1.1M To Central Texas Medical Center’s Heart Center

 

Well-known local philanthropists Bruce and Gloria Ingram were honored on June 30 at Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) for a generous $1.1 million donation to the CTMC Foundation. The funds will be applied to the purchase of the hospital’s second interventional cardiac catheterization lab, which will allow more patients to receive life-saving cardiac care close to home. In addition, CTMC established the Ingram Heart Center at CTMC.

 

“The Ingram’s contribution for a second cath lab will allow a person suffering from a heart attack to receive immediate treatment if another case is taking place at the same time,” said CTMC CEO/President Sam Huenergardt.

 

Dr. Anthony Cedrone, CTMC’s full-time interventional cardiologist, stated that since the hospital’s first cath lab opened, at least 70 patients have received intervention during a cardiac event without having to travel to surrounding larger cities. In addition, CTMC will add a second full-time interventional cardiologist to its staff later this year.

 

The Ingrams say they value having a local hospital that is equipped to meet the needs of the community it serves. Mrs. Ingram’s first involvement with the hospital was in 1993 when she served on the hospital’s first gala committee and later transitioned to the CTMC Foundation board. She is the longest-standing member of the board and is a founding member of the CTMC Women’s Council.
