San Marcos Seeks Art For Annual Monarch Fest

The City of San Marcos Discovery Center is seeking art submissions for the second annual Monarch Fest on Oct. 19 from 9 AM to 4 PM.

In an effort to celebrate the beauty of pollinators, the City is calling for five to seven artists who are interested in displaying pollinator-themed art.

The art can include butterflies or pollinator-reliant insects, pollinator-friendly flowers, or other creative representations expressing the importance of pollinators in our environment.

Featured art will be on exhibit inside the Discovery Center, and, therefore, must be able to fit within a 6′ x 6′ space. The San Marcos Discovery Center offer information on native flora and fauna found here in San Marcos, as well as conservation efforts that are in effect to enhance the San Marcos River and surrounding habitat.

Interested artists are encouraged to submit a sample of their art by email to Discovery Center Attendant Conrad Chappell or to register online. Registration closes Oct. 9.

For more information, visit the Monarch Fest! Facebook page, the Discovery Center website, or email cchappell@sanmarcostx.gov.
